Environmentally Friendly Heating with Wood and Pellets

Wood is a natural resource that is abundantly available in nature. It is the oldest fuel used by humans, dating back about 400,000 years. Today, wood is gaining increasing importance as an energy source once again. It grows relatively quickly and plays a vital role in our environment during its growth (production of oxygen). As a renewable resource, wood has a favorable ecological balance when it is sustainably cultivated and harvested. It is primarily composed of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. Environmental pollutants such as sulfur, chlorine, and heavy metals are only present in small amounts. Wood pellets are mostly made from sawmill by-products or non-sawable industrial wood.

Umweltgerechtes Heizen mit Holz

Wood grows as biomass faster than it can be harvested worldwide. When wood naturally decays in the forest, it releases the same amount of CO2 as when the wood is burned in a Max Blank heating device.n

Wood pellets are mostly made from sawdust and wood waste from the sawmill industry, helping to preserve our resources. Heating with wood pellets is just as CO2-neutral as heating with firewood.

Our commitment also lies in environmental responsibility and the sustainable use of essential raw materials, both in production and in our products. For example, at Max Blank, around 75% of our electricity needs are met through our own photovoltaic systems, and 85% of the manufacturing air used is purified and returned to its cycle. The preservation of the ecological balance and forests is crucial for a controlled production chain – independently monitored, fully traceable, and guaranteed sustainable – and is just as important to us as everything else.
